It is with a sad and heavy heart that the British Business Club announces that Luke Alan Barnaby Conner passed away on Saturday 10th July 2021 after a serious accident. He fought hard and long to recover but it was not to be. Our thoughts and prayers go to his wife and family - Alexandra, Anna, Lily-Kate, his Father Lionel and Mother Verity.
Luke, born in Staffordshire on 2nd June 1981 to Lionel and Verity Conner, grew up in the village of Rolleston on Dove. He had a great connection to the countryside and community in which he grew up. Head Boy at De Ferrers High School he followed his father’s footsteps into Law, studying at Manchester University and trained to become a Solicitor in England, passing his exams in 2005. Although coming to Moscow first in 2004 for 6 months with Camerons and returning as a qualified solicitor with Linklaters and later with Chadbournes, a Law firm in Moscow. In 2015 Luke started his own practice Conner & Co in Moscow. Luke through all of his time in Moscow was a regular to be seen out at all of the social and business events and he made himself a prominent person in the British and wider Expat community in Russia. Then in 2017, he became President of the British Business Club which he valued as an important part of his presence in the community supporting his company, his Family and his Country. Russia however was to become his home. However, his lifelong love of football saw him support Derby County at every opportunity.
After meeting Alexandra (Sasha), and falling in love, they married in Sochi in September 2016. After marrying, Luke set about making a home for the Sasha, Anna and himself, then in 2018 Lily-Kate was born. The four of them, a complete family.
May he rest in peace and remain in our thoughts forever

4) For those who are coming straight to Molly Gwynns we expect to start at approximately at 14:30.
5) We have the area booked for as long as people would like to stay but please note it is not a free bar.
6) For anybody wishing to contribute to a fund in support of Luke’s family there will be a collection box.
