  • Moscow

Dear BBC Members,

For those of you have had a relaxing summer, welcome back to the real world - back to work and to the Moscow busy season. For those of you, like me, who have been chained to your desks for the last few months, I feel your pain. The good news is that the British Business Club has organised a wide range of varying events to assist your networking and relaxation over the cold autumn months. For more information, please see our Autumn Programme Flyer. These events will be open for registration and pre-registration shortly, if not already.

Our programme starts off with a back to work networking event at the Residence of the British Ambassador. We are very pleased to be working with Trevor Lewis, Trade Counsellor (DIT), Colin Wells, HM Consul General, and also with one of our long-standing members, Ms. Anna Jackson Stevens, Event Coordinator, to provide our members with access to what must be one of the most impressive mansions in Moscow.

In addition to other events we are planning at the Residence in the coming months (please see flyer), we also have our regular lunches at the Lotte Hotel for Shareholders and Directors. The next speaker will be visiting from the U.K. to talk about clean and renewable energy investments, which is an extremely hot topic in Russia at present.

Following on from our successful pub networking night at Katie O'Shea's, we will be having a Christmas networking event there on Tuesday 3 December.

For the festive season, we will also be inviting you to a Christmas Party planned in Moet Hennessy's impressive Moscow Headquarters at Bolshevik (Wednesday 11 December) and a Christmas Lunch, also at the Lotte Hotel (Thursday 19 December)

Before that, on 31 October we will combine Brexit with Halloween, and visit Audi City Nikolskaya for champagne cocktails. We very much look forward to meeting with you at our events. Finally, in early November, we are planning a new Curry Night something which is long overdue, with partner Glenmorangie, currently pencilled in to be held at the Hyatt Petrovsky Park.

I very much welcome feedback on any of our past events and on our future programme. Please feel free to contact me at [email protected]. We are always looking for support, sponsors, ideas, and to meet new friends.

So far, 2019 has been slightly easier than 2018 in terms of business. 2020 is perhaps going to be slightly more difficult, but this is something our members have grown accustomed to. Later this year,  the British Business Club will launch a Vision 2020 strategy plan. It is time for the club to recognise its true potential. We have a huge and active membership, lots of support from many different sponsors and stakeholders, and it is time for us to take things to the next phase of growth and open a clubhouse: a place for club members to relax, to hold business meetings and events, a place for co-working, networking and the development of business and cultural links. More to follow...…..

Best wishes to you all for a successful and prosperous autumn,

Luke Conner
President
The British Business Club
